Pressure Ulcer
Decubitus or pressure ulcers is a painful condition that affects many people every year, especially the older part of the population. Pressure ulcers can occur in all parts of the body, but some points are more prone than others. Areas with little adipose tissue between the bone and the skin are particularly at risk.
Both internal and external factors can cause pressure ulcer. To minimize the risk of a pressure ulcer, several preventive actions must be taken. This could be intensive skin care, a special mattress or seating cushion, correct nutrition, physiotherapy or physical activity if possible.
